Welcome to Misool – this chain of tiny islands in the southeast of the main island creates a network of hidden coves, thriving lagoons, impressive cliffs, striking caves, photogenic limestone overhangs, mangrove corridors and stretches of sparkling beaches. The islands around Misool are grouped into several island clusters: Balbulol, Daram Wayilbatan, Yilliet –each satellite island group offers a full day itinerary with several sites, so the places mentioned in this itinerary are only a few examples and there are plenty of alternatives – regardless of the exact sites chosen, Misool is sure to leave you with a lasting impression.

Wayag

Cross the equator as you journey to Wayag, an undisturbed ecosystem now part of the Kawe Marine Protected Area that is uninhabited. Diving and snorkelling around Wayag features technicolour corals and healthy sea life. From relaxing swim through the coral gardens to adrenaline-rushed drift past the slopes, Wayag can accommodate all. Hawksbill and Green Turtles are among some of the permanent residents of the sites. Wayag also offers a postcard view landscape with its limestone hills covered in lush vegetation. Dampier Straight

Dampier Strait is the channel that flows between Batanta and Waigeo and is increasingly becoming well known for having excellent diving due to the nutrient-rich ocean currents passing through. Teeming with micro and macro life, Sardine Reef and Cape Kri are highly recommended. Spend a magical evening at Kabuy Bay, enjoying a fantastical night dive at Batu Lima.

We went for a boat trip with the family in Raja Ampat over New Years and it was a really great experience. The boat was just the right size for us (4 adults, 2 kids). The crew was lovely, very professional and friendly. Really the highest standard. The diving itself is absolutely amazing and I can just recommend it to everyone. Sebastian from Barefoot Yachts was super helpful with the booking and the trip logistics and we appreciated having him as a partner planning the trip and not just a salesperson.

We just returned from spending 7 amazing days exploring Raja Ampat on the Carpe Diem. Barefoot Yachts did a perfect job helping me select the right boat for our two families (10 people) and thoroughly answered all my questions. Carpe Diem was a dream!! We scuba dove or snorkeled 2 times a day, played in a lagoon, hiked to beautiful overlooks. Three full yummy meals a day! The boat was lovely and the best part was we had an abundance of shade area. Truly an amazing trip that exceeded our expectations in every way possible

We had an amazing Raja Ampat trip on the Aboya. We really enjoyed it, the weather was great, the dives and snorkel trips were absolutely beautiful. The people on the Aboya were also very nice and helpful. They loved the little kids so that was great for us. The boat suited us very well and we were happy being just with our family and adjusting the trip to our needs.

Our boat, Duyung Baru, was super spacious, it is an elegant and well-thought-through boat that allows comfort and privacy.
