The owner’s decade long experience is displayed in every detail on the phinisi. A well-balanced layout makes Duyung Baru the perfect choice for families and smaller groups. The yacht was built on the shore of Bira, in 2010. In 2016, she got a full makeover and the renovation transformed her into a sailing hotel.The design of Duyung Baru is intelligent, clean, and efficient – making her the perfect vessel for diving holidays. The spacious cabins are all equipped with air conditioning and hot water showers. The shower and toilet are separated.

During the cruise, a top deck lounge provides enough space for sunbathing, relaxing or simply enjoying the views. The Phinisi liveaboard has a beautiful kitchen and dining area with an open space. The food onboard is clearly a highlight – prepared with love and fresh ingredients. The selection of dishes ranges from fresh croissants and bread for breakfast to a delicious fusion of traditional Asian and Western cuisine. The owner Yani is onboard herself and with her honed cooking skills, she makes sure that your days are packed with delicious meals and snacks. The meals are well balanced through out the day and the menu can be adjusted to your needs and wishes.

Guests are accommodated in two private double cabins and one twin cabin. The tastefully designed and spacious luxury cabins have air conditioning and hot showers. Double cabins are equipped with a king-size bed and spring mattresses. Single beds are 2m x 1.40m in size and also have spring mattresses. The cabins provide enough storage and natural ventilation. Day 1 | Welcome On Duyung Baru

Get picked up at Labuan bajo Airport airport or transferred to Duyung Baru – your home for the next week. Spend time to familiarise yourself with the facilities on board, get a safety briefing and have a refreshing welcome drink. Our first stop, around Sabolon is where you can go for a first Snorkelling or Diving sessions. Afterwards, cruise to Kalong island, where towards sunset thousands of Flying foxes ascent for their nightly hunt.

Day 2 | Rinca Island to Siaba

In the morning we are leaving for the ranger station on Rinca Island. From there the trekking tour takes you to the legendary Komodo dragons. A ranger will be there the entire tour to provide you with details about the wildlife of the Komodo National Park. Spot also wildlife such as buffaloes or deers. Cruising to Central Komodo towards Siaba Besar – a tranquil Bay to lounge and relax in the afternoon.
There are often dozens of Turtles around and the Hardcoral garden which is truly spectacular for Diving and Snorklling alike. The close by Mawan Island offers one of the most beautiful beaches inside the Komodo National Park. With its pinkish sand and turquoise waters, it’s the right place for stunning pictures. Underwater, Manta Rays are frequently spotted here.

Day 3 | Padar

Start  your day snorkelling or Diving Karang Makassar aka Manta Point. Sure a highlight of Komodo. If you are lucky, you may see more than a dozen manta rays performing dances.
After, head to another session of Snorkelling or Diving the famous Batu Bolong – a lone rock formation home to an abundance of fish and marine life in the center of Komodo National Park.
Relax and lunch next to sandbanks surrounded by turquoise water – great time to take some photos. Towards the afternoon, cruise towards of Padar Island – keen divers may go for another session around Padar islands or simply enjoy watersports and snorkelling before the sun sets over the hills of Padar. Optional Night Dive.

Day 4 | Padar to Komodo

Start your day early to hike Padar viewpoint – one of the most postcard like views of the National Park. After, cruise towards Pink Beach. The crushed red coral gives it its pink colour and thus its name. This is one of the very few pink sandy beaches worldwide and snorkelling here is also incredible.
Towards the afternoon, either go for more diving and snorkelling or head out to visit a local fisherman village – for keen hikers, the Komodo Island ranger station is also close by in case you like to go for a second Dragon & wildlife hike. Overnight Komodo area.

Day 5 | Komodo to Gili Laba

Depart early and cruise towards the north of the Park – stop on the way around central Komodo for a diving or snorkeling session at one of the sites in Central Komodo – could also be your second chance for Manta Ray sightings.
The area of Gili Laba –  how the sister islands of Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut are locally called – offers a broad variety of water activities. Excellent dive sites are close by and the bays are a great spot to practice you kayaking or SUPing skills. Overnight Gili Laba.

Day 6 | North Komodo

Start your day with some action packed dives at Castle and Crystal Rock or head over to Tatawa to gently drift over one of the best coral growth of Komodo.
Towards the afternoon, head to Kanawa island or to Sebayur for snorkelling, watersports and beach explorations. According to your flights

Day 7 | Farewells

We wake up with the sun rising over Flores Island and cruise back to Labuan Bajo and bid farewells. Duyung Baru crew will take you to the airport or Hotel in Labuan Bajo.

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. Each Cruise is different and the detailed day-to-day itinerary and sites will be tailored to suit guests’ preferences as well as weather and ocean conditions.
